saving jasmine vine

I have a jasmine vine thats planted far away from the house, the grasshoppers have ate ALL the leaves of except maybe 2 or 3 " the plant is about 4 foot tall" my question is can i dig it up and plant it closer to the house where i can manage the grasshoppers? its still alive and the inside of the vines is still green. any advice how to do this?

Do not do anything till fall. Then (1) cut back to 1 ft above the grounnnnd. (2) keep soil well watered (3) dig s area 1 ft dia & 1 ft deep around plant. (4) lift ball & plant out & move to new home. (5) heel tlant in keep watered till spring & apply a "root stimulator" to soil ball.
