I replied last night before the crash. 30 seeds is about average for a packet of tomato seeds. Burpee's rarely has anything that you can not buy off the shelf if you wait until the seeds are set up. Since you were aware of the cost of shipping when ordering why complain now? Were you warning people to be aware of shipping charges? Shipping is always expensive buying one pack or many. If you watch your favorite seed companies many will have free or half price shipping some time during the year.

Having paid much more for shipping than the cost of a single plant I understand the shock of shipping charges but I was dealing with a rare plant available only through one nursery not a common one.

They've definitely gone up on catalog seed prices and they have the highest shipping rates of anyone I've ordered seed from, regardless of the $5 off $30 coupon codes you can always find for them. Unfortunately I've never seen Brandy Boy seeds offered locally so I just placed the last order I'll ever make with them for four packets of seeds, don't know how long the seeds will last but when they are gone, they are gone.

I ordered 10 packets of seed from Burpee's for a total of $46.80. I was OK with that, but the shipping was $9.95! They came in a 5X7 envelope, and the seeds and envelop combined weighed 1.4 oz. The postage should have been $1.20. It took six days from the time that they emailed that they had shipped them until they arrived.
