Zinnias being propagated?

I read a post on this subject today. I did not know that the zinnias could be propagated. Do they do this in water or what? I have some beautiful purple zinnias that I would love to propagate, but do they stay the same color? Thanks for any help. Barb

will stay the same color...take a 2-3 inch tip cutting. apply 0.1% IBA (rooting hormone) Stick in well drained soil & mist.....

There are a lot of zinnia posts at Annuals - GardenWeb I don't follow zinnias so I don't vouch for any of them. The link is just for your information.
