That's a cool looking spider!

Serranos are a nice option and in the neighborhood of Cayennes, but, have a little more "bite" in my experience. I like Lemon Drop (or similar). They're a nice citrusy pepper that can be fairly hot. Or if you want to jump up to a Habanero - but, that's a big jump and a different kind of burn. And they're all very productive and easy to grow!

Any of those would be my suggestions.

I was going to say, give the Habanero a try. Hot, but not super hot and pretty easy to grow and good producer. Seeds are cheap and easy to find also.

I would suggest throwing in an ornamental too. They are fun to grow although some of them do not put out good eating peppers.

Thanks so much for the tips!! Now I can't wait to start them again next year already.. lol.

BTW, the spider is nowhere to be found since around this time yesterday. It was hanging around the same location and I saw it build 3 complete webs. Didn't look like it caught any bugs though.. probably moved on... Of course, now I jump at the slightest movement around me when tending to the plants.

There are many, many cayennes.....some are prciante, some less so. You may have a mild one.
