Cjohansen, I like this thread, thank you.

I think we are in the same boat. I feel sorry to see your beautiful plant with slightly yellow leaves. If the soil is still wet it would be better to use wicks to drain the excess water from the soil.

For me the rain do not give over water my plants because my potting medium is well-drain. When we got hot sunny day I water my plants every day sometimes twice a day. I got a lot of wind damage from the young buds to marble size pods (bruise and dried). About 8 gallon containers with big plants fell down, next season I'll prepare something for strong wind.

I am also looking for some answers of your questions. Last year I lost a lot of over winter plants, this time I do not like to make the same mistakes.

I hope we can get some answers.

Anyone?

Looks like the potted ones are just getting worse. I'm fetching my overwinters inside this weekend.

I ate my entire poblano crop of 5 peppers (one plant) last night. Rellenos. Yumm. I sure do wish I had your crop, though.

How cold is it getting at night? Didn't you just put a dome over your in-ground plants? That should hold for quite a while yet. Your porch plants might appreciate the break, though.

Dennis

Dennis, thanks. This morning it was 7C/44F :/ I think the in-ground ones will do fine under the dome for another few weeks.
