Hi, I recently bought some Nishiki Hakuro rooted cuttings and since it has been to cold outside to plant, I placed them in some water to keep the roots from drying while I wait for it to warm up a little. They have been in water and by a south facing window and have notice a abundant amount of new roots coming out from when I got them. My question is: Is there a diminishing return to how long I can leave them in water to keep the roots growing? Will the cuttings eventually die or root if I leave them in water for to long (over winter)? Reason I ask is because it barely had any shoots and leafs when I got them and over the last few days they seem to be growing quite rapid. Here are some pictures.
