I don't think the cuttings will root. I am not positive, for absolute sure they won't, so you could try rooting them. Recut the stems, dip in hormone powder, and stick in a medium of your choice. I would probably use peat/perlite/ and a little sand, kept damp. And I would think you would want to keep it warm. (I am not sure of that either.)

They can NOT be propagated by cuttings. ONLY division &/or seed. The little "peanuts" are storage organs & not involved in propagation.

Thanks for the info... Had a big asparagus fern which had grown to split the plastic tub it's been growing in for > 10 years... Just today I've sawed it in half and repotted it... Â With some confidence it should now prosper, again, in a new, bigger, better container...
