Rose Exhibiting

help with exhibiting

I live in northern Tasmania, my roses are mostly h/t and i live in a very windy spot. My roses are nearly two years old and in good condition. I have been to 3 rose shows & i think my roses are as good as any that have won. My problem is that i don't know what i am doing as far as presentation.when and what to pick . I NEED LOTS OF HELP TO SHOW ME THE WAY. Any help will be great.

Roughie,

Your best bet is to purchase a book called "Showing Good Roses" By Robert B. Martin. You can reach him at Petrose@aol.com.

BUT you are in Tasmania and from talking with David Rushton at the rose show part of the WFRS meeting in Houston, I learned there are differences in what judges want and look for in your part of the world. Especially in how the rose petals open.
Ask a local exhibitor to mentor you.
