Hello and welcome!!! Your plant looks beautiful and healthy!

As far as trying to get the plant to flower - which will then almost always cause branching - my best advice is starting in spring make sure the plant has enough room in its pot / fresh, well draining soil. Then get the plant outdoors as much as you can - the more you can do that the better for the plant. It may flower indoors but it is more of a challenge to get the amount of sun the plant really thrives on. Do the best you can, if that's the window then the window it is. If you can get it outside, even better. I would also start a regular fertilizing schedule in the spring when the plant is awake and ready to go for the new season. It's a little late in the season to be fertilizing now, but you will want to next spring.

As for wintering, once temps drop below about 45 they can't safely be outside anymore and if the plant is more than a year old typically you want to let it go dormant. The shortened daylight hours should trigger the plant to start yellowing / dropping leaves. You can store it in a cool, dry area (such as an insulated garage but not directly on the concrete, a cooler room or closet, etc.) and maybe give it a cup of water per month.

If you're in Dallas your plant will probably want to start going dormant around November sometime. (I'm in Austin!) Personally I would let the leaves fall on their own unless you have a space / storage issue for dormancy...some people trim them, some don't so it's up to you & your needs.

Here in the DFW area you'll want the plant indoors around the first or second week of November depending on the frost/freeze warnings.
