I'm not sure where you're located or your growing conditions but I would think it's possible the late-season heat just got too overwhelming, preventing fruit from setting...

I've got some superhots growing on a NYC fire escape with some merciful shade and they're still setting fruit but it's a constant battle keeping them under 90+ degrees...

I believe if yer using a high nitrogen fertilizer it promotes plant growth, but has a negative effect on setting fruits.
Dont know if this is the case for ya. But if it is switch to something with a lower nitrogen ratio maybe?
And yes that really extreme hot weather wasnt good for plants setting fruits up here in northern suburbs of NYC
