Bringing a pepper inside

Hi everyone! I have a question about my (datil) pepper. I grew it from seed outdoors in central Ohio and it prospered in the hot temperatures and sun. I have since moved to Portland, OR and no longer have any outdoor space to keep it. The window it's in gets about 4-5 hours of sun a day. I was wondering what I should do to get it to continue growing and, if possible, actually produce some peppers. It's about eight inches tall right now and has gotten new leaves/grown since moving. Don't laugh, but I even tried putting it inside my car since it gets full sun all day but I think it was too hot and it wilted right away so I had to bring it back inside. Is it a lost cause or is there a chance it'll bloom? Thank you!
