ARS & Modern Technology

ARS considerers its website the fastest means of communication with members, and Modern Roses 12 database with the latest registered or introduction roses with AENÃ¯Â¿Â½s. It may be time someone tells ARS Executive Director, Jeffrey A. Ware and ARS President Jeff Wyckoff; this is not true or happening. Known for a fact, ARS has many new rose introductions, yet for over two months not a single one is posted. In their positions as ARS leaders,they have a responsibility to members to see that similar do not transpire.

ARS please donÃ¯Â¿Â½t insult memberÃ¯Â¿Â½s intelligence further, by inferring ARS posts information when they have time or a timely basis. This has happened all too many times, to consider an isolated incident. In past years before modern technology, much was accomplishing simply with strong ARS leadership. TodayÃ¯Â¿Â½s leaders should realize, similar results can be accomplished without costing ARS one cent. Providing everyone did their paid / or appointed job, without political intervention or inflated egos etc.

Hi Dan,

If your looking for the 2011 AARS winner "Walking on Sunshine" it received an AEN last year, but missing is from recent registrations.Same with the registered rose "Joe de Vivre", it also has an AEN. There are many others that I can list. My point being, ARS is not quite ready for all modern technology. It my be advisiable ARS follow a wine maker advice, (We bottle no wine until its time)

As Phil posted "ARS website will be regularly updated to include all new roses, corrections, and more." My fist question will be when? I joned ARS for rose information,if I am not receiving it, why be an ARS member?

I generally no longer reply to posts from Ron since such replies typically accomplish nothing. However, I am truly puzzled by this post. Ron specifically mentions 'Walking on Sunshine' and 'Joie de Vivre' (presumably the 2007 version rather than the older one from 1949). These roses do have AENs and do appear in the Modern Roses database. The AEN for 'Joie de Vivre' is 'Garden of Roses', by the way. However, they have never been registered, which is why they don't appear on the Recent Registrations list.
