One pepper, I wouldn't worry about it. Just like 1 out of 100 people get some disease in their life time, 1 out of a 100 peppers get some disease. It sounds local to the one pod. If you start to see more, then it could be considered a plant problem or even a whole crop problem. I wouldn't worry but then I don't know what caused the spots. Maybe someone else can be a little more specific on the problem.

Thanks for the reply Bruce. My first instinct was to toss it and forget about it but then I was worried that it was the beginning of something nasty. I'll keep an eye on everything and hopefully I won't see anything else like it.

If you have a good local nursery around, you can always take it to them and they may be able to let you know what it is. Some problems are area specific and knowledgeable people in the plant biz can be a big help.

If I were to guess, I'd say some sort of bug damage.

Looks like stink bug damage to me. They stick there lil incisor's in and suck on the pepper. Have you seen alot of stinkers around?

I haven't seen any stink bugs this year and usually we have a bunch around. I've been checking regularly and haven't noticed even the tiniest blemish on anything else. Hopefully whatever it was has moved on.
