Woohoo! It worked!

That top 3-tip one has shot up about three-fold in one year. It was in a pot with two others and I felt almost guilty getting the entire lot for $8.25 at a garden center's big summer half-off sale. Still hasn't bloomed, though. Guess it's just getting itself worked up for a big future bloom show. Not gonna be a compact variety, that's for sure!

What are your most and least expensive plumies? Anyone else seen the $299.99 rooted JL Dane from 1-stopaloha? Yikes!

that worked. Your Makaha Sunn is a beautiful flower collected and named by my friend Bud Guillot. It was named in honor of Rell Sunn, who was a famous surfer and community leader in Oahu who died of cancer. She was a wonderful lady. She was often surfing at Makaha and was lovingly known as the queen of Makaha. If you google Rell Sunn, I am sure there are many articles on her. Bill

I looked up everything I could about Makaha Sunn before bidding, including the bio of Rell Sunn. Very sad that she had to go so young. It's a fantastic tribute to her because I think there's no flower more stunning than MS--it was love at first sight for me.

I have to bring my plumies in every winter so I've got to be pretty choosy about which varieties I get--space is getting limited! Really hoping I can get Makaha to root and thrive. The claws have gone from a warm golden-green to reddish, but the tips still look wet and fresh.
