I've heard people say California Sunset is a seedling of Penang Peach. It seems to have retained some of the very desirable characteristics of PP, so they are very similar. Many say if you're limited on space no need to have both - but I only have PP so I'm sure others with both, or knowledge of both could give you a detailed comparison.

I have both, so it's a statistic of 2 samples :-) PP, bought as a rooted plant, took 3 years to bloom at ~ 4' tall, one inflo on 2 tips. CS SS, bought as a rooted plant, bloomed the same year on 2/3 tips and is still blooming after 6 months. CA SS is a seedling of PP, and like most of JJ's plants, blooms well even when small. I've seen a CA SS that was 4' wide and 3' tall, utterly covered in blooms. However, a knowledgeable friend with mature PP and CA SS plants has said she can't see a difference in the growth.
