Randy....Vintage Gardens has it! It is a difficult rose to find and I don't know of any other source. I would get one if I were you....you never know how long it will be available. (And I'm not sorry about the enabling...she's a treasure!)

Celeste, she's beautiful! I've had mine for around 10yrs, and she only just last yr gave me one bloom that even came close to these. I'm afraid the bed where she's planted must be sorely lacking nutrients. I really need to amend that bed so I can see blooms as lovely as yours. I had no idea she could look this good. And most of the (few) other photos you see on the web or in books show a lot more yellow. I love the salmons and peachy tones on top of the yellow. Thanks so much for showing these beautiful photos!

Sorry to resurrect an older thread, but sometimes I search specific varieties here on GW, and I obtained (yes, as a body bag) what seems to be accurately Helen Hayes: it's a blend of yellow, pinks, and oranges. One bloom from mine this autumn had an actual wash of red and was much better formed than the first two blooms I permitted it. They are sweetly but not intensely fragrant to me.

This picture was September 7 when it was still hot (with a bumble bee!) Mind, the rich cantaloupe orange was gone shortly after lunch time. The colours are almost like Pernetianas to me (from what I've heard) in their fleeting nature.

Believe me that I've had blooms with colours much paler, soft pink like 'Peace' but more of it suffusing soft yellow petals.

The cane with reddish young growth is very long and now tucked semi-sideways instead of into the yard.

The petals seem to do the starry reflex thing that I like on teas/hybrid teas.

This is the nicest bloom so far even though I have had a few subsequent ones as well.

The leaves are glossy and do get black spot and the canes are c-o-m-p-l-e-t-e-l-y thornless. These characteristics seem to be accurate.

Mine grew nicely from a 1 1/2 grade plant. "Willowy" and lax is how I'd describe it. It's canes are currently 5' but arched over its neighbouring Tropicana.

I'm hoping it retains cane in its southern location.
