Where exactly are you located?

Despite that, there are lots of miniatures that will likely do well for you in your zone. Most will still have significant die back, but should have no issues bouncing back from the roots.

However, there are a few miniatures that are exceptionally cane hardy. Most of these are actually grown by Brad Jalbert of Select Roses in Langley, B.C., here in Canada. I equate them to Explorer series mini's because of their hardiness and disease resistance. Of course, they are not quite as cane hardy as the Explorer roses, but the best I've seen in miniatures and equivalent to a hardy shrub rose.

The hardiest of Jalbert's mini's are:
Graduation Day
White Patio Wonder
Pink Pation Wonder

His other Patio Wonder series are also hardier than most mini's, but the pink and white in the series are exceptional. Of all, Graduation Day seems the hardiest by far.

Other non-Jalbert mini's that thrive for me here are:
Sweet Chariot- Decent cane hardiness
Green Ice- as tough as the Fairy Polyantha and similiar growth
Jeanne Lajoie- (needs a sheltered wall), but not as tender as most claim.
Gourmet Popcorn
Minnie Pearl- will die to the ground, but has always bounced back for me due to outstanding vigour.

Thanks Tim for the information.

I am located in Lac-Echemin, Québec. It is quite cold here in the winter but we usually have some snow on the ground. It is common to get some -30 degrees celcius during the winter and we can get some frost in the beginning of june. The growing season is not very long.

I will look over the roses that you recommend. I want some colors that are pure, without being mixed.
