Miniature Roses

possible problem?

Although my mini looks temendously healthy at this point with over 50 buds, while looking at it today, I noticed that some of the buds are whitish in color at the base of the bud. I did spray off a couple of spider mites, but dont recall seeing this whitish color on the base of the buds before. Any ideas?

Looks like the beginning of powdery mildew. check the faq page for solutions, E-rase will get rid of it, as well as some other fungicides. don't ignore it, in roses it starts affecting foliage and distorts new growth eventually. plus it's ugly
