I'm not familiar with "Marie". Minis can grow large, you can start it out in a 12" pot. What you ask "place it right in the window" do you mean once you bring it inside during the winter? No, for the winter you want it to go dormant, put it a dark, unheated garage, keeping the soil moist. There will not be enough sunlight in the winter to keep it near a window inside.
