Don't know how Peach Delight will do for you, but in my area Y2K wasn't winter hardy and was stingy with bloom.

I don't have Peach Delight, but looked it up in the latest Roses in Review (published Jan 2005). It received a 7.7 garden rating. A short comment mentioned the fragrance.

The three people from Penn-Jersey who reported on PD for Roses in Review gave it an average of 7.3 (Garden rating). All three spray. The report on this one: (Reporter 1) likes the "decorative", "long-lasting" blooms. Of note to arrangers, (Reporter 2) has used this one many times, and says that the blooms do not "blow out" quickly. (Reporter 3) likes the form and color of the "stunning" blooms.

Each to their own interpretation, but a 7.3 in your zone on a new mini rose does not bode well for future reviews. There aren't too many roses I can think of that got a lowish RIR rating and then years later rebounded with a high rating. Could happen I guess and a lot of people don't put much stock in ratings. I think it's a useful tool and personally try to stay away from new roses rated under 7.5. But that's just me.

Depends on the number of reviewers. In 2003, there was only one reviewer (in Penn-Jersey), and it was rated 6.8, in 2004 the same person rated it 8.3, and there were two additional reviewers (and they are pretty tough graders). For something relatively new, it's worth a try.

I have a friend who had Y2K, it was vigorous and a good bloomer on first flush, slow to repeat.

Many roses get lower ARS ratings simply because they lack great exhibition form. I grew Peach Delight when it first came out and it became one of my favorites. It had good disease resistance and nice, fragrant blooms that were long lasting. I'm finally getting back into the rose growing hobby after moving several years ago and Peach Delight is one rose I've been thinking about ordering again.

The 7.7 rating published in the RIR of the American Rose magazine is the garden rating. The 7.3 is the exhibition rating. The ratings are only published if enough people submit a rating to the RIR. The number of reporters on this rose were 50. A pretty fair sampling for a mini.

I just got this one and can't wait to see how she does!

I got 3 last year, they are growing well, the blooms are beautiful - apricot is my favorite color - and I am very happy with this one.
