Questions about repotting Tropical Twist

I bought a Tropical Twist miniature rose today, and am planning on repotting it when the weather cools down (probably around September).
It is currently in a 5 Gal pot (9" wide inside edge, and 12" tall). It will grow to 20-24" High and Wide. My questions are:
What size of pot should I use?
What kind of potting soil?
I don't want to put it in such a large pot that it gets water logged, but not so small that I have to repot it in a few months.
