I grew MK on it's own roots and grafted on fortuniana root stock. Grafted is the only way to go with this rose. Most blooms are the size of a large mini (Fairhope, Pierrine, Arcanum, ect.). Very rarely have I seen a bloom the size of my other mini-floras. Beautiful color, small mini-flora size blooms.

I have two Memphis King bushes on their own root. I got them when visiting Whit Wells, the hybridizer. Both are over 24" tall and at least that wide. The blooms are 2-3 inches across and STAY FOREVER. The blooms will stay until they turn black but are still in good form if that makes sense. It is a beautiful red. Whit has a number of great roses. Fitzhugh's Diamond is another great red that is going to be a winner.

I am in central Florida right on the Gulf. The roses are in three concrete beds on the backside of our condo.

Mine's own root and too young to tell on eventual size, but it is a very vigorous, healthy plant and wants to bloom all the time. Agree that blooms are a beautiful color and very long lasting and beautifully formed. I got it and Memphis Magic because my first grandson is named Memphis.
