I propagated a miniature rose by division (almost by accident). There were two strong stems coming up from the ground when I transplanted. I was trying to figure out what was going on and "accidentally" yanked them apart. I subsequently grew them seperately. One was always smaller than the other until the past year and finally caught up.

I divided a rose this Spring - band size of Darlows Enigma. It worked well.

Also have taken sucker pieces of Harrison's Yellow that were not individually rooted, but had a piece of taproot attached (there were no white fingers on the sections). Potted them, plopped them under mist, and they rooted.

Still not something I'd try with a favorite variety that I couldn't replace...
