that's quite an odd pod.

sometimes weird things happen to a pod when growing. I had a thai pepper plant go thru some stress (the plant was almost broken off at the base by serious winds, bad enough to almost kill it, but not bad enough to finish the job) a pod had just set right before this happened, but due to most of the roots breaking, it didn't have enough energy to develop the pod. as a result, it sat as just the point of a pod for a long time. then after the plant healed, the pod resumed development. now I have a pod that looks like a cylinder with a nub at the end.

I don't think there's any difference in the genetic material of that pod you took a picture of, but there's nothing stopping you from growing out the seeds to find out for yourself.
