Antipodean progress

Hi from the South Island, New Zealand.

Down here, October is the second month of Spring, eq. to April in the northern hemi.

Bought my seeds from Reimer Seeds. Very happy with the purchase. But I was late planting the seeds. I'd planned to do it in late Sept. but it didn't happen. As of today, Oct 21, they've been in the hot water cupboard for 9 days. I have a 30 watt bulb in there as well to keep the temp up around 26c or 80f.

So, after 9 days, I have about 15 healthy Jalapeno, 15 Hot Banana & 10 Anaheim sprouted with their first two leaves. I've now put them in a sunroom.

Also, believe it or not, 5 of my 12 Red Savina Habaneros have sprouted :-)

Still to pop are Poblanos, Kiriskas, Paprikas, & Goliath Sweet.

So, it looks like, if I have a good run, I can plant out at the end of Nov. which is the last day of Spring. That gives me 90 days of full summer, and the warm first month of Autumn, March.
