Seed offering 2008

Again, I wasn't going to do this year but several people have asked so here we go again. This involves a lot of time on my part so only those that follow the instructions will have their order filled.

Seeds are not from isolated plants so crossing is a possibility. Samples will be small (10-12 seeds) to give as many people as possible a chance at them. Simple way to do this involves only one envelope.

1. Address a SMALL (5" x 7") PADDED envelope to me and affix proper postage ( if you use the 5 x 7 envelope and small bags it should be 83 cents).

2. Inside the envelope include:

A. an address label I can attach to return the envelope to you.

B. loose postage- the same amount it costs you to mail the envelope to me (do not send metered postage -it is only good day of issue)

C. individually labeled coin envelopes or SMALL plastic bags ( available at Wal_mart in the crafts dept.)for each variety.

You may select up to 12 varieties from the list below. Email me your choices and I will set them aside for you for 14 days(after that they go back into inventory)and give you my mailing address.

As varieties become unavailable I will post that information so please read to the end of the thread to see if what you want is still available.

Please drop me an email when you get your seeds so I know they arrived.

    Mr. John Fiedler,
Recieved the seeds today, Thank You very much. Hopefully I will have some fruits this comming season to return the favor to someone else. Just by reading all the posts that you have written I know that you are very successful growing peppers. Do you have any advise for me on how to start these seeds.

You are welcome and thanks for letting me know they arrived. I don't do anything special with the peppers. If you grow tomatoes or eggplants you can do them the same way.

fiedlermeister... John, the seeds arrived looking well rested :-] It'll fun it will be to see all the seeds you sent grow (that may take me more than one growing season, though ;-) I look forward to finding out how well they will do here in the high mountain desert.

Your enjoyment of the peppers is evident in your willingness to share it with so many, as well as the beautiful photos you take that are available for viewing on your site. I think the Trinidad Purple Coffee is very beautiful and I love the decorative foliage of ulupica x eximium.
    My sincere thanks.

Thanks all for letting me know they arrived. I am also happy to hear that many of you plan to share seeds with others. Many of the unusual varieties I have are through the generosity of other pepper growers all over the world. It is exciting to see how the seeds move around the world between pepper lovers.

    Hey John,
I recieved the seeds on Nov. 17th, I put them in a six inch pot the same day, placed them under some t-12 lights, water them when needed and today I noticed they popped out to say hello. Needless to say I was so happy that I called everyone in the family to see them, Hopefully this is a sign of a good harvest this comming season. Once they get a little bigger I will post some pics. Thanks John for the seed offer.

Thanks for the high quality seeds. I set up 4 each of 9 kinds in ziploc bags on a paper towel moistened with weak tea. These were in the fridge for a day, and then on a heating pad since then. Unfotunately when they were first put on the heating pad they heated up to (I think) above body temperature. I thought they were fried. It doesn't seem to have hurt them.

After 6 days I have germination of at least one seed of the 9 types (where germination = the appearance of a root). This covers a very diverse set of peppers:

    Chihaucle Negro (C. annuum)
    Congo Trinidad (C. chinense)
    KALOCSAI V2 (C. annuum)
PI 290983--AKA Aji Verde (C. baccatum var. pend.)
    Pusa Jwala,Yellow (C. annuum)
    Spagnolin (C. annuum)
    Szentesi Cseresznyepaprika (C. annuum)
    CAP 1473 (C. microcarpum)
    CAP 1478 (C. praetermissum)

The following have already had 4/4 germinate: Pusa Jwala, Kolocsai V2, CAP 1473 and Szentesi Cseresznyepaprika.

This thread is a year and a half old and is about a seed offer that is no longer active. You may want to actually start a new thread on your question. It would be more appropriate and far less confusing. Just a suggestion. I would have just sent you an e-mail but you didn't seem to have one on your member page.
