    Learn to love the burn.

in Russia, burn learns to love you.

They look awfully red for douglahs, which are supposed to be brown.

    Nice and gnarly, though.

DM... there is a Red and a Yellow version of these. I too thought there was only brown until I saw this.

Here is a link that might be useful: Douglah

    Johnny,

the Douglahs are king, i don't care what the record books say. one of my favorites i grow every year. you are good, sometimes a reddish tint as they are ripening but get a dark brown when fully ripe. you will know as soon as you cut them, alot of times the inside will be green. i
always hold of on picking them a while.

    Ronny,

like Dennis saiid, Douglahs are brown. i have the others. the yellow has a good taste. but neither are nearly as hot as the brown.

John I got seed from you last year and have been picking lots and lots of Douglahs . A very productive plant.A few turned out red but what a nice pepper , put in 70+ plants and will pick a pile tomorrow just to post a picture of thanks. Your kindness rules on this forum
    Thanks John

    Dave,
Glad you liked them. I had a few that also went red this year. They ended up huge , red, and pointy. I am totally amazed at the number of crosses i have found this year. 5 were from my own seed, which i plan on throwing those 5 away and replacing with seed from this year. and 17 other crosses from swaps and trades. Its all good, got alot of the stuff i wanted and a few extra suprises. as for the few that didn't turn out.. they just go on next years list. John

Here you go John .Thanks again

Very nice Dave, what are you gonna do with all those? when my dehydrators can't keep up i blend them with vinegar and can them. it works out pretty good for making sauces later. just something to keep in mind when you get swamped. John

Dammmm. That's a lot. You should pass them off as chocolate to the mean kids in the neighborhood.

How hot is that stuff on Scoville scale ? Looks tempting though.
Do you guys have chocolate Habs ? That is one going to be on my wish list in Johnny swap deal.
