Those are both just gorgeous! I love them both. At the risk of being a nosy parker may I know where you bought your Hansa? I checked HMF and did not find many avenues for acquiring that rose.

They are beautiful. I too would love to know where you got Hansa. On my monitor it looks to be a shade of purple. Is that its true color? Have been interested in Purple Pavement too. How does the bush do as in rebloom? Thanks, Judy

Thank you Kate. I mail-ordered Hansa from both Witherspoon Roses and Antique Roses Emporium. I got healthy good-sized plants from both vendors.

Thank you Judy. Hmmm, it's hard to describe the color of Hansa -- I would describe it as a rosy red-purple. The dimmer the light, the more purple the flowers appear.

Purple Pavement has good re-bloom.

I sure love the color of these beauties.Love that Hansa.Gorgeous blooms.I had never heard of it before.

Thank you Jean, Krista and bgrose. Krista, my Purple Pavement certainly does look lighter than the pictures on helpmefind. I just assumed it was Purple Pavement because I got it from a reputable nursery in Raleigh and because the flowers look lavender in dappled shape. If it's not Purple Pavement I wonder what it is. It's a very good rose; very disease resistant, good repeat, and wonderful fragrance.

The color reminds me of Fru Dagmar Hastrup, but can't tell if the petal count is a match...

It's definitely not Frau Dagmar Hastrup. I've seen that one at Witherspoon -- the flowers are a light pink, not on the lavender side, and single. I've always wanted that one though. My rose is semi-double.

That's certainly not Purple Pavement. The color is way too pink. Either way they are both very pretty and thanks for sharing. I can't wait until my PP and Hansa bloom. I love the way they smell!

Alicia, do you still grow rugosas in NC? I live in Cary and am intrigued by Hansa. Did your roses make hips?

The lighter rose (not Purple Pavement) might be Belle Poitevine. Purple Pavement is also great, but not this light color.
