Overheat chilli seeds while germinating??

Hi Chilli heads

Just wondering if you can overheat chilli seeds and kill them while you are trying to germinate them.

I am trying to grow some 7 pots and the box/soil they are in got up to 47 degrees....C!

Will this kill them? I have put them under a light now and will play around till i can get them sitting at a constant 28ish

Yup. At that temp they would be goners.

Ideal temp is in the 80-85 F range (25 - 30 C), you might push a bit higher, but not 47C.
