I have had success make roots off of florist roses and not any from a flower store that were real fresh but they always end up dying..I use schlutz rooting hormone,like a inch in the bottom of a 6-8 inch cup and fill with water and wait till they root(or die).I had 99 cuttings from random places and only 2 have rooted one flowered a sweet pink flower and the other should bloom in the next 2 or 3 days
