Systemic? NO!!

Take container outside on a warm day and spray with a strong mix of dishwashing soap in water. Under the leaves too and soak top layer of soil mix. Leave on plant for 10-20 min & thoroughly rinse off. Then buy some ladybugs to protect throughout the winter.

You NEED a systemic, IMHO. I have used ortho before with no problems. You just cannot use it, and harvest it the next day. There are some other systemics, but I dont know about those. You could keep on using the stuff you already have, you will just have to re-apply every so often to keep aphids under control. I used malathion or diazanon on my peppers ONCE, wiped out the aphids, never had problem one after that.

As has been said, systemic pesticides aren't to be used on edibles. Period. No exceptions.

Aphids are easy to deal with. Squish 'em. Wash them off. And/or use insecticdal soap according to label directions.

If you use systemics, they are drawn up into all parts of the plant and kill insects that eat or suck on the plants. You will be eating the same poison in your peppers. Yum Yum.

I need to order Ladybugs inline... any reliable sites? Have found some on e-bay, but have had bad deals there before.

Also, need a site to help indentify insects. So far I have found very few aphids and spider mites. This morning I found something not in my garden book. Put it under the microscope to get up close and personal, but can't id it.

I am wondering if it not too harsh to use ammonia and dish soap together as a spray?

this year i tried safers soap without much luck.... seemed take the plants outside and washing with the hose seemed to do just as well.

BUT

now i am using NEEM OIL and this is really doint the trick.
i recomend it highly for most pests.
