Solenostemon scutellarioides is the Latin name for a very common group of plants called, collectively, Coleus. As it happens, it is very easy to propagate from cuttings. Just take 3 to 4 inch stems from the growing tips, and place them in a glass of water on a bright (indirect light) windowsill. If you still have the plant in a container (not in the ground) then you can bring the plant indoors and place it on a bright windowsill for the Winter. The Coleus were commonly kept from year to year by previous generations of gardeners (like my Granny), overwintering them as houseplants till the following Spring.
