Wildrose transplant

I sent a large chunk of my yellow wild rose with my daughter to Denver for her to transplant.
The leaves have dried up and there is one green leaf on the bottom. I did have a large clump of dirt and roots on the stem and several suckers.
Any chance of it living and shooting new growth in the fall or will I need to send another sucker in the spring?
