If you start with clean foliage there is no need for fungicide.
I only open my tents once a week and mist with plain water.

George - What to do if you only have cuttings from outside (in the fall) that have some blackspot, if not on them, some may be present on older leaves on the plant? Have you had any luck with them. While I can usually find some fairly clean foliage on most plants, I know that they have been exposed to BS. I understand that mancozeb (manzate) is supposed to kill or inhibit BS spores and include it in my spray when I get around to it. I also have problems with losses at transplant. Do you use a fungicide in transplant medium? Thanks. Nick

Hi Nick,
Remember that older leaves with some blackspot are not being used at all by me.
Older wood, even when clean is never going to root as well (maybe 50 % if you are lucky) as younger canes, which for me, will root 99 to 100 percent.

It also depends on varieties as some will never root and have to be budded.

I "DO NOT" use any fungicides when transplanting and maybe loose on in hundred.

My rose varieties can go for months without spraying. Last winter I made "Cuttings from Cuttings, from Cuttings" (see my article by that name) and from Nov. 06 to early May 07 I never sprayed any fungicide at all. Click on my articles page !
