Overwintering

I have been growing hot peppers for twenty years now, but have never overwintered. After reading about it, I decided it would be fun to dig up and pot my beautiful Bhut plant. I trimmed it down and potted it a few weeks ago. It is already growing new leaves and is doing great.

Lots of posts on the subject of overwintering peppers complain about aphid infestation. I see no sign of them yet.Am I safe? How can I be sure to avoid them?

I dusted the plant with sevin dust for a few weeks before bringing it in.
