Cherry Hot

Hello-

My dad and I have been growing they typical "Cherry Hot" peppers for over twenty years here in southeast Michigan. My dad has acquired the taste for them as one of his favorite peppers. We've had great success with them until lately. Over the past two growing seasons, the pepper plants do fine, blossom and sprout peppers. The peppers, until ripe, are fine. Once they ripen, they get mushy and pithy inside. No other peppers in either garden (one at dad's house and one at my house ten miles away) have this problem, but the cherry peppers (some from a market and some from seed I started) have had it for two years now.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice? Getting all of my seeds started and thinking of skipping the cherry peppers altogether.
