Hesperantha

I recently acquired in a trade some hesperantha seed and I see that there are several varieties of hesperantha. The man who sent them said he had never grown these from seed. I planted them about 3 weeks ago and I see nothing coming up. They are sort of a beige color, fairly small (smaller than anomatheca seeds) and don't appear to have any hard coating on the seed. I'd appreciate any advice. Perhaps they like to be planted in sand? One woman said she had read they liked cold treatment for 3 months.
