The Butch T. Scorpion is the latest 'hottest pepper in the world', but the normal scorpion is a lot less pungent.
I don't understand the second question...??

The four varieties are all lovely peppers....but stock up on ice cream!

Well that is an open question. Trinidad scorpion butch t strain is the hottest pepper in the world today. But that doesn't mean every scorp is hotter than every bhut. Depends on growing condtions and individual peppers or plants.

As for the 7.99 seed pack. That does sound like a good deal but I would be a lil leary. You would be much better buying from someone like pepperlover.com or thehippyseedcompany.com. But if you are not to picky you can always give it a try. But it can be very frustrating to grow a plant for 6 months that you thought was a scorp or bhut and to find out it is a reg hab. Been there done that. Not very fun at all.

Yeah, just because its labeled as "hottest for salsa" doesn't mean you're actually getting high end superhot seads. Those things are way too damned hot for use in salsa anyway, its more likely they're just jalapeno and habenaro seeds.

Thanks for responding guys, I went ahead and bought a pack of peppers and I am sure the Ghost pepper is a ghost pepper unless I am wrong, to me the ghost really does not have a hot smell at all but once you get it on your hands it stays in your skin for a while for me it was like 3 days, anyway the scorpion does not have smell to him either! I am saving some seeds just to see if I can get them to sprout for I have tried in the past and they did sprout for me but also they died on me, my coworkers claim that the salsa is really good I only used half of a pepper-ghost- and the rest was Jalapenos tomatoes onion, garlic, the sauce Does have a kick to it specially when its going down. Thanks for your response. M.N.

Actually, in my experience the smell of a bhut can be overwhelmingly hot. True story, I cut one up into quarters and put the pieces into those small plastic hobby/craft bags and drove over to a friend's house. Half way there, I could smell the peppers through the sealed bags. 3/4 of the way there it was becoming overpowering. By the time I parked it was like the inside of my care was filled with mace, I could barely see.

So yeah, bhuts have a hot smell to them.

I must agree. Both bhut's and scorps have a very strong aroma.:)

The guy that was supplying Cental Market with scorpion peppers is active on some pepper forums.

He goes by Alabamajack and lives in Austin.

I love the smell and flavor of the Bhut pepper, much more than the other Nagas or the Scorpions.
I made a small batch of salsa with a Bhut, a Naga Morich, and a Chocolate Hab. It was edible...but hot.

A single pepper in a batch of salsa should be perfectly fine for those who like hot peppers.
