I posted to answer you about a week ago but must have forgotten to hit submit!
My Salvia 'Santa Barbara' is about 1 1/2-2 feet tall. I have kept mine in a pot for years (I drag it into the garage to overwinter).
This year I took some out of the pot to plant in the ground- it never got very big, but I'm dealing with some heavy clay & I hardly amended that bed.
Unfortunately it blooms no earlier than the regular Leucantha & that's why I bought it. It wasn't in a place where I could see if the hummers liked it. Hope this helps.

Susan, I'm also in southern CA and the ones we had were 4 feet tall and as much around. So much for dwarf! We have rich, amended clay soil and everything here gets much larger than everywhere else. I had to take them all out because they were too big for the spots they were in.
