That's a pretty plant. Are the leaf margins actually yellow? Just a guess, but if the leaves are about 6" long (it hard to tell), I'd say its a Sansevieria trifasciata hahnii. But even if that part is correct there are many hybrids. If you'd like to see pictures of 44 of them, copy the name into the Goggle search engine and click on "Images"

This is a great, wonderful plant. It is identified in Juan Chahinian's book as S. t. 'Silver Hahnii Marginated'.

It is a great plant. I picked up mine with almost four mature sized pups in the pot. When I seperated them out, I ended up with nearly two plants for every pot. I would wait to seperate yours, until after the pups are over three inches high, patience is the game. This is an odd plant as it gets larger than you would think a hahnii would, but not as large as a regular trifaciata. And the leaves twist more in mine. Did I say, It's a Great Plant?

When they are damaged badly, folded or snapped leaves, depending on how large and healthy the plant is, I will trim that busted up leaf to the soil line. BUT, in a plant that has only a handful of leaves, and is chugging along, I would wait and let it just grow peacefully for awhile. It's really just 'cosmetic' looks anyway, pop that guy behind a few others around his size and you won't really notice at ALL. And it will give him time to perk up, and grow, grow, grow.

Wow what a cool plant. The edges of my leaves are cream colored not yellow. It's in a 5 inch plastic pot that is now oblong-it is packed with roots. There are 3 large pups and 4 smaller ones. My leaves seem to be growing more upward that yours but things are squished together. As I look at it more closely I see gorgeous leaf colorations-neat marbled variations. I am excited about this plant! Diane

Okay, ok, I answered too fast... sorry. I 'knew' there was another name, but I just couldn't find it this morning. I took a little more time and found that this one I posted my picture of, is larger than the S.t. 'SHM' but is related to it. It goes by the name of S. t. 'Hahnii Pearl Young'.

Gads, better go check that book a third time, eh? You know, just to be sure...

Hi. If you plant leaf cuttings of your S. trifasciata
'Silver Hahnii Marginated', they will produce 'Silver
Hahnii' without the margins, still a very beautiful smaller
Sansevieria. Leaf cuttings of this will propagate true,
making more 'Silver Hahnii'.
