Salvia farinacea is easy, except for making a choice. The hybrid `Indigo Spires' is readily available, and a new compact form, `Mystery Spires' (PPAF) will be out this spring. `Victoria' is one of many forms available as seed or from local nurseries. `Henry Duelberg' is a new selection from select perennial nurseries with an unusual form.

Salvia azurea (grandiflora) is available from many mail order nurseries and is a reliable perennial.

Salvia patens `Blue Angel' is probably from Terra Nova Nurseries near Portland, OR. The other forms are sporadically available, and a Mediterranean climate yields the biggest plants, so look for sources in California. Many of the forms of patens are started from scarce seed and are available sporadically from specialty nurseries in the USA.
