Black & Blue - a question about runners

I have several Black & Blues that I relocated last spring to a sunny spot in the garden where they have plenty of room. The mother plants are putting out runners that come up about 10" away, and are now about 12" high. The original plants are also starting to show signs of new growth. Can I leave the new 'plants' where they are, or will everything eventually start to get overcrowded? If I need to remove them, what is the best way to go about it so I end up with viable new plants?

Thanks so much for your help. This is my absolute favorite salvia, and I don't want to mess up!

Happy Gardening.
