Sorry guys it was foxglove strawberry and not shades of orange, but clumping is still the issue

You Might try to let the seedlings get a little bigger and try teasing the root apart, or do the weaker sacrificial thing, or try some clump planting. Foxgloves do best with their own idividual space, but it might work, only you'd get smaller plants due to the competition.
I love foxgloves and salvias! I don't have luck with the foxgloves reseeding themselves, so I tried to grow them from seed. I found that they do best if I start them in June in pots and grow in pots until September, then set them out. This spring I have huge foxglove bases ready to shoot for the sky.

When I read your title I thought you meant something different.

If you leave all the babies in one pot you'll sacrifice the health of all. Either tease the roots apart or cut off like ninamora suggested.

What I THOUGHT you meant was: putting several of the same plants together in a group (could be one large hole) to make a larger presence. This does work.

I find it easiest to grow a bunch of seeds in a single pot. Once the seedlings have a few sets of true leaves you break the rootball apart and replant the seedlings as individuals. Whatever you do don't handle the stems, because if you break the stem it is all over for that plant.

My foxglove seedlings are really small as were the seeds they came from so represents why I just sowed several in single pots, they are the smallest seedlings I have and appears it will be a long time yet before I can even think of separating them , which is what I will do eventually. I have a small yard and a lot of seedlings so only the strongest plants will make the final cut. Im still hoping for the B&B seeds to pop. I know they not be true, but still hoping for the best. Im sure to get black and blue I will need to find a plant or order one.
