collection going downhill...

Hi,

I usually hang out at the orchid forum, but I have quite a few houseplants including a nice little collection of sansevierias. Recently, I had to move them to a different room because of remodeling. While the conditions are not strikingly different, they are not happy at all. There are some that look like they're rotting - there are soft, brown, mushy places on the leaves that start in the center at the bottom. If you pull on them, the whole section of the plant comes apart. I don't see how this could be overwatering, since I never water more than every two weeks, sometimes longer.

Can anybody give me an idea what might be going wrong?

Thanks in advance for any help.
