Yes Brass Band may accidentally find itself in my shopping cart one of these days. Great shots! The closeup of New Zealand is gorgeous.

That first shot is magnificent-- I really like those two roses together!!! The New Zealand and Brass Band roses are also quite captivating. Thanks for sharing your lovely garden with us, Juicy Tomato. :-D Becky

Mark, beautiful rose photos, specially the colour combination is great. What is that purple rose in the back ground in the first photo?

    Karima,
    it is Wild Blue Yonder.

Your roses are lovely. I especially like Crown Princess Margareta and Teasing Georgia. It amazes me how big they can grow in zone 5. And Brass Band is such a pretty little rose.

Those are wonderful! I'm happy to say I planted Strike it Rich this year.

I'd love to have Just Joey (it's beautiful, plus my son's name is Joey), but I didn't think it would do well in this climate. Do you do much winter protection?

Brass Band is very tempting, too! Thanks for sharing.

Ooooh! Beautiful! I love JUST JOEY and CROWN PRINCESS MARGARETA!

Your roses are just lovely, Mark. CPM and New Zealand are my favourites, but that Wild Blue Yonder looks mighty tempting...

    reply,

I cannot get enough - I can practically smell them. I have read mixed about Wild Blue Yonder? YOURS ARE AMAZING! Is it very high maintenance (ie. I want no maintenance, lol)? I really cannot get into all kinds of weekly spraying, etc........

Any ADVICE that might fit this bill? Oh, not climbing either. I live west of BOSTON. I consider myself a solid zone 5 - although people argue that. I am conservative and do not want to buy stuff that does not have a chance or has to be babied through a New England winter.

Am I just day dreaming? Should I stop with roses? I have EBB TIDE and LOVE, LOVE it.

Did I tell you, how much I loved the pictures? I LOVE THE PICTURES. Thanks

To All ~ Thanks to each one for your comments. I really didn't realize how nice Strike It Rich and Wild Blue Yonder were when I put them in the ground together. And I didn't think WBY was my type of rose when I bought it with a few others from J&P last year - but that is changing. The shape and color of this rose is very striking!

madsud - Your mileage may vary on Wild Blue Yonder. I think it did well for me with some winter protection in my Z5 conditions. Growing roses is quite addicting. I like the challenge and labor of making them grow. Your success with the newer types of roses (ie. hybrid teas, floribundas, etc) will depend on some willingness to do what it takes in a colder zone to keep the rose robust/healthy. I winter protect, prune, fertilize, spray, etc, etc. This is the fun of it! I also like to take pics and bring bouquets to work. The residents really do love them!! That adds to the fun. Each person may have a different idea of what they enjoy about growing roses. Just because someone doesn't pamper their roses to death doesn't mean that they won't grow well! Give the roses you are interested in a try...

Well, here I am writing a book...guess I better keep it from getting too long.
