I'm using a Fujifilm Fine Pix. What type is your camera?

It has some limited shutter and aperture priority. Is your problem one of just hue shift or over/under exposure - saturation - dynamic contrast? This latter can cause color shifts as well.

I got myself a 4 x 8 piece of plywood that I cut in half, put hinges on, and painted white to use as a neutral background. I also got some approximately 20% gray felt as a liner to this folding background, mostly to solve auto focus problems by having as neutral and even a background as possible.

I have 2 cameras the digital is a Canon PowerShot SX110
(the one I am having the problem with). My problem is one
of hue shifts the red and orange S.greggii have darker spots
in the center of the lip. I get good shots
with my Minolta and I use Fuji film w/that one.
Looks like I need to try the grey felt liner routine for
outdoors.The best time to take pictures is in the morning
or on overcast days for me. As the setting sun has made many pictures look way to orange.In addition the flowers may not be around at the end of the day due to them being shredded.

How about bring flowers indoors to photograph?
Any suggestions there?

If I have a bit of a color shift in my Photo, I take my image and adjust the color till it is right. I use Iphoto on my imac. It is really easy. Look at the whites and as you shift see that they are clean and neutral. I will sometimes have to make multiple adjustments. The colors will go to green and then I have to add magenta to cut the green Then it might be too saturated and I de saturate it a tad. Think about the color wheel. I go to what my memory says is right.
