Clay pots are best for really good drainage, but I have a Sans in a large plastic pot. I only water once a month and dont have any problems. You have to make sure you never overwater, and it should be fine.

It's also a question of their size & form of growth. If it's a Sans. that gets big & heavy, sometimes they can get top heavy & topple over easily. So for Sans. like that I tend to put them in clay pots for the weight of the pot & the stability it lends, as well as for the better drainage.
