You can put them outside after all danger of frost is past. However do not put them in direct sunlight, they will get sun-burnt. Mine do best under the shade of my oak tree. Put them in a spot in the shade that maybe will get an hour or less of direct sun. They do very well outside.

I noticed where you live, make sure it will have fast drainage. If you are getting 50" of rain, it will be too much unless all the rain falls in the summer months. I think water is the only thing that can kill them. If mealies are in the soil, (used soil) well that may do them in. They are not insect inclined at all.
