There are four forms of Salvia blepharophylla in the trade: the initial old-fashioned form of unknown provenance (sold in Texas nurseries) and three introduced Yucca-Do clones: Dulces Nombres, Diablo, and Painted Ladies. DL is from near the type locality, and the last two are seed starts from the same location, different from DL. All have about the same treatment.

They are somewhat stoloniferous and can form dense beds that bloom for long times during the summer. A loamy raised bed is ideal, and they last for a long time in large pots. Do not let the pots freeze solid during the winter, and do not cut back flush to the ground.
