I kept mine in a pot all last summer here in Tonawanda. I've grown a few other varieties in pots too. All have done very well for me.

Can i also put the black and blue salvia in pots, reason im asking is i have a stress fracture and it would be easier fo rme to do containers, at least in the back yard, as i can get to them alot easier.

Yes, I grew Black and Blue in a good size pot last year too. It did very well. I did end up planting it in the ground in the fall, because I just had too many pots to drag inside. I planted it on the south side of my house about a couple feet away from the foundation, and it has returned!!
